Welcome Dr. Allison Kearney!

We are excited to welcome Dr. Allison Kearney to the team at Aptos-Capitola Veterinary Hospital!

Born and raised in California, Dr. Kearney developed a love for animals at just eight years old while volunteering at an animal shelter with her Girl Scout troop. Her passion for animals continued to grow through years of volunteer work and caring for a variety of pets, eventually inspiring her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Kearney earned her bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology from UC San Diego before attending St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada. She completed her clinical rotations at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. During veterinary school, she participated in zoonotic disease research, pursued a focus in One Health Medicine, and explored ways to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into veterinary care.

Her current professional interests include preventive medicine, ocular disorders, feline medicine, and dental surgery. Dr. Kearney is passionate about continuing her education and staying informed about advancements in veterinary medicine to provide the best possible care for her patients.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Kearney enjoys spending time with her cats and birds, cooking, exploring new restaurants, and shopping or thrifting. She also loves traveling and scuba diving, which allows her to explore incredible places beneath the ocean's surface.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Kearney join our team and look forward to introducing her to you and your pets!
